Why we exist

Moving to the Gulf for work usually comes with a genuine financial opportunity: tax-free income, often a higher salary than at home, and an end-of-service gratuity waiting at the other end. But most expats arrive with no local financial education — and most of the "advice" available comes from advisors who are paid to sell specific products.

We started Expat Wealth Plus to fill that gap: a single, independent resource that walks expats through every stage of their financial journey in the Gulf — from opening a first bank account, to investing tax-free savings, to understanding gratuity, to eventually leaving and bringing that wealth home.

Expat Wealth Plus was built by a UAE-based market research consultant and long-term Gulf expat with over 12 years of experience working and living across the GCC.

Professionally, the founder has advised senior leadership in government entities and leading private-sector organisations on strategic research and consulting projects across financial services, banking, insurance, and fintech. That work has spanned the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Jordan, and Turkey — giving a first-hand understanding of the regional financial landscape that most generic finance sites simply don't have. This experience also includes supporting finance-related startups and businesses in the UAE and Saudi Arabia navigate early-stage growth.
